I just received a letter of acceptance to a six-month Discipleship Training School through Youth With A Mission (YWAM). YWAM is "an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus Christ personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission". The trip, June 14th - November 28th 2010, is split into two sessions: a twelve-week "lecture" phase, and a twelve-week missions "outreach" phase.
The lecture session will be in the mountains of Idaho with roughly half the time on the trail hiking to outdoor classes where we'll hear from various speakers on topics like "The Character of God," "Your Identity in Christ," “Spiritual Warfare” and more. After we're good and learned, we'll fly out of the country for our outreach phase. The current plan is to travel to Mongolia to serve the community by helping build community centers, feeding the poor, and sharing the gospel with the nomadic peoples of the land that account for 30% of the nation's population!
It will be a time of huge growth for the group and for me personally. I would greatly appreciate it if you would consider supporting me through prayer. There is so much to pray for and leave in God's hands. Please pray ...
If you wish to support me financially, I need to raise about $7,000 for for the total cost of the trip. I will need to have half by June 10 and the remaining balance by July 30.
